I am working with different aspects of microbial ecology in agricultural soils, including soil layers

. Primarily, my research involves studies concerning the exchange of gases between soil and atmosphere, such as

  in leguminous crops, with special focus on N2 fixation in grass-clover pastures under various growth and management conditions.
• Influence of various soil physical and chemical factors on denitrification , as for example the influence of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) on denitrification in deeper soil layers.
• Emission of greenhouse gases, with special focus on formation of nitrous oxide (N2O) from the denitrification process.
