Profile

My research activities mainly concern minerals and trace elements in domestic animals. Focus of attention is on prevention of production-related diseases, both subclinically and clinically manifested. Research is focused on the basic mechanisms in mineral regulation in relation to diseases, among these immunocompetence. The work involves both development and use of biological parameters and markers for animal status concerning minerals and trace elements. Furthermore, development and analysis of other clinical-chemical parameters in e.g. blood, milk, urine for use in the diagnosis of production-related diseases are in focus.
