Profile

My Ph.D-project is focused on proteolytic activity of indogenous milk proteases after modification of their substrates. The work is primarily performed in model systems with small peptides. The proteolytic activity is evaluated after modification of the substrate. The modifications are all of oxidative character, e.g. direct protein oxidation, reaction with secondary lipid peroxidation products as well as glycosylation with lactose.

Changes in the proteins are primarily described by mass spectroscopy (MALDI TOF TOF and LC-MS). However, different spectroscopy methods are applied as well, among other fluorescence spectroscopy.

I am also interested in protein structure, protein stability and how the stability affects the enzymatic activity. Especially the lipoprotein lipase and its ligand binding are of interest.
