Education: Clinical-chemical medical laboratory tecnician/bioanalyst.

Employment at Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences since 01.09.1987.

Field of activity:
Purifying of RNA from muscle (withTrireagent) and from cells (RNeasy kit)
Synthesis of cDNA. Real Time PCR. Standard PCR.
Producing satellite cells from pig muscle. Culturing this concerning investigation of cell response of stress treatment. 14C labelling of cells, treatment with antioxidants with the aim of investigating water binding capacity and water mobility in the muscle cell system.
Cell proliferation with WST-1.
Creatine kinase activity in cells.

Validation of analysis results.
Preparation of analysis instructions, buying and producing reagents.
Maintenance of analysis equipment and contact to repairer.
Assistance to students and guest scientists.

Former fields of activity:
Collecting blood samples from mink and fox.
Clinical-chemical analyses, mainly enzyme-, protein- and lipid analyses. Hematology, including differential counting of leucocytes. Counting of eosinofile granulocyts and cortisol analysis (Elisa) with the aim of investigating stress level at mink.
Histology and morphology in skin biopsies from mink.
Mounting  of samples in paraffin wax and plastic material (Technovit), cutting, dying and analysis  by means of electronical image analysis.
RIA analyses, gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), Western Blot and capillary electrophoresis.
Mesuring the activity of enzymes in milk by means of zymography.
