The Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences has merged with the University of Aarhus and become the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences

Published: Tuesday 12 December 2006

At the turn of the year, the Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences merged with the University of Aarhus. The merger also included the National Environmental Research Institute and the Aarhus School of Business.

The merger will strengthen the university, not least in the area of agriculture and the environment. The Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences has become a faculty at the new University of Aarhus, changing its name to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in the process. The director of the Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Just Jensen, is Dean of the new faculty.

As a result of the merger, the abbreviation DIAS (which stood for Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences) has been replaced by the abbreviation DJF.
