Both Japan and China are steeped in age-old traditions while embracing the future with gusto. For two weeks at the end of September our reporter will be travelling in these two fascinating countries of the Far East. Follow her on her daily weblog as she experiences and gains insight into the cultural, agricultural and scientific aspects of Japan and China.

She will be meeting farmers, scientists, journalists, ministers and ambassadors. She will experience the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of oriental dining rooms, pastoral landscapes, bustling megalopolises and modern research institutes.

In China she will be travelling with a delegation headed by the Danish Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Helge Sander.
