Abstract

Description

The purpose of the project is to develop a system to automatically take blood samples from free moving cows and pigs. The system should be light weight and the animal should be able to carry the system during blood sampling. The system should be battery driven and controlled by a programmable circuit board or by remote control. The system should have a capacity of 2-20 blood samples. Test should be performed to investigate weather the system itself has an effect on the animal behaviour of pig and cows. As further development the system should be modified to be able to take samples from small animals like mink and rats.
