Profile

Research in basal and applied ethology. The research in basal ethology includes development and validation of methods of measurement of reactivity and behavioural needs of farm animals. Applied aspects in cattle include behaviour in cattle in relation to housing (group size, space allowance and flooring) and feeding with focus on behaviour in calves housed in groups in relation to milk feeding method. Applied aspects in pigs include identification of alternative rooting materials to growing pigs.
