Profile

The unit of Environment and Climate Engineering works with fundamental knowledge in environment and climate technologies with emphasis on odour, ammonia and greenhouse gasses from animal production systems as well as sustainable technologies for treatment of animal manure.

The main activities are the production of knowledge about housing, storing and management systems impact on emission of odour and gasses. Another activity is mathematic/physics modelling for identification of parameters and relations which can be included in the evaluation of the context in livestock design, manure handling, climate and air quality as well as gas and odour emission from livestock buildings. Research is also conducted in technologies for precision treatment of animals as well as the reduction of energy consumption in livestock buildings.

Further information on the activities of the unit and current projects can be found on the following pages:

The research unit also performs a number of development and test assignments e.g. on ventilation equipment. In addition to the senior researchers foreign guest researchers, Ph.D. students and occasionally also master and bachelor students are affiliated with the unit.
