Health in herds with automatic milking systems (AMS)

The purpose of the project is to create basic knowledge about prevention of production diseases and reproduction problems in ruminants, secondly to intensify DIAS’ research in AMS for the direct benefit of society and to improve DIAS’ international position in this field. The work will be based on the analysis of data generated by the automatic milking systems for optimum utilisation of existing databases. This comprises coupling of data directly from AMS with objective evaluations of herd health and reports from the cattle database. Focus will be on the analysis of AMS-data for selection of key figures applicable in the health and production management of different herds.
