Head of research unit:  Per Kudsk

Profile

The research unit carries out research concerning the optimal use of pesticides in agricultural, horticultural, and forestry crops. Importance is attached to studies concerning the fate of chemicals, including pesticides and allelochemicals among other things with regard to ensuring that the applied plant protection strategies do not have an unacceptable effect on the environment and the working environment. The research group advises the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and the Danish Ministry of the Environment on pesticides, carries out efficacy trials of pesticides for which companies apply for an approval for use in Denmark, and participates in working groups in the EU, EPPO, and the OECD concerning pesticides and plant protection. Further, the research group is responsible – on behalf of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency – for the administration of the Danish GEP approval.
